Rama Ayman is a Senior Advisor at The National Investor covering steel and metals & mining sectors.
Over the past decade, Mr. Ayman was Managing Director of Hatch Corporate Finance (HCF International Advisers) and Corporate Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Arcelor (the world’s largest steel company) from its creation in 2002 until November of 2006, few months after its merger with Mittal when he joined HCF.
Mr. Ayman has 20 years of experience in investment banking, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions and Equity Capital Markets in the Metals & Mining sector. Mr. Ayman’s advisory roles range from the landmark Arcelor-Mittal merger to numerous acquisitions, divestitures and JVs in most areas of the steel and its raw materials in America, Europe, China, and CIS, MENA and India for a broad range of corporations and private equity clients. Most recently, in November 2011, Mr. Ayman was the lead Advisor to Al Ghurair Iron and Steel Company, based in Abu Dhabi, for its strategic partnership and share sale to Nippon Steel.
Prior to joining Arcelor in 2002, Mr. Ayman had a long career in M&A and Capital Markets focusing on emerging markets investment banking at Bankers Trust in New York (merged with Deutsche Bank) and as Director of Corporate Finance at BNP Paribas in London from 1997 until he joined Arcelor in 2002.
Mr. Ayman holds three Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degrees in Economics, Political Science and Philosophy from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and a Masters of International Management from Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management in America.
